Taking Care Of Your Smile

  • Don’t forget to practice an excellent oral hygiene routine through the holidays. There is nothing wrong with a sweet treat every once in awhile, but when that sugar isn’t properly removed from the teeth, it can lead to the development of plaque and tartar. Make sure you brush your teeth twice a day, use dental floss, and use an antibacterial mouthwash. Not only will practicing a great oral hygiene routine help keep your smile healthy through the holidays, but it will also keep your breath fresh.
  • Stay hydrated throughout the festivities. Water isn’t a replacement for your normal oral hygiene routine, but drinking water can help keep saliva circulating in the mouth and limit the amount of debris that can stick to your teeth. Try to limit the number of sugary drinks you can consume and drink water instead.
  • Visit our Durham, NC dental office. Did you know that your dental benefits don’t roll over into the next year? If you haven’t scheduled a biannual comprehensive exam, schedule one today. During your preventive care visit, Dr. Blaylock will screen for complex dental problems, bite disorders, and gum disease. Don’t take the risk of losing your benefits, get the dental treatment you need before the year ends.  Patients can schedule an appointment online.
